I spend my life writing one-off data analysis code. No one cares what it is written in as long as it works. I enjoy writing a lot of the tools in Haskell. They often require less debugging than when I write in other languages. Sometimes it takes me longer in Haskell though...still learning!

I do, sort of. I'm a researcher, and part of my job is to build a rough
proof-of-concept for any idea that looks promising. I can program in any
language I want, and I choose Haskell.

There does seem to be a fair amount of Haskell in the financial sector.
