I'd recommend looking at:
http://www.stackage.org/install#mac-os-xI don't generally recommend using the platform installer, it ends up pegging libraries to old versions which causes dependency problems, or in some cases have known bugs.On Wed, Mar 4, 2015 at 11:26 AM emacstheviking <objitsu@gmail.com> wrote:Agreed Michael!I am currently wiping all Mac Ports packages and I will perform a clean up of /Library/Haskell etc. What is the *preferred* way to get the lastest for OSX: Using homebrew, macports or the Haskell Platform. But the report you're giving here is particularly strange. Cabal-1.16 implies that you're using GHC 7.6, which is supported by the claim that base 4.7 isn't available.
