After building GHC, and then doing `git status` I get
Changes not staged for commit:
(use "git add <file>..." to update what will be committed)
(use "git restore <file>..." to discard changes in working directory)
(commit or discard the untracked or modified content in submodules)
modified: libraries/libffi-clib (modified content, untracked content)
I have never so much as cd'd into lifff-clib! Doing `git status` in there gives

I can show the diffs if you like but some are like

Should these files be in the repo at all?
