GOALS AND ADDRESSED READERS

The fact that computers have become indispensable in our daily life shows the importance of a journal guiding the reader in such a rapidly developing branch as information technology. The Islamabad Journal of Information Technology intends to be a forum for presenting and discussing technology trends and ongoing research in information technology. It aims at providing a professional forum for discussing, sharing, and learning regarding developments and innovations in information technology. Our focus is on delivering latest knowledge to IT students, professionals and managers to keep them aware with latest research in the scientific world.

The Islamabad journal of information technology is the unique and prestigious journal of its kind publishing from Pakistan under AH Automations Islamabad Pakistan. The journal is edited for international readership and it aims at filling the void present in Pakistani IT literature especially. We are committed to educate the people especially Pakistanis about the developments on the latest research issues in information technology and other related fields.

PUBLICATION PERIOD

The Islamabad Journal of Information Technology will be published quarterly, starting July 2004.

TOPICS

Since the purpose of the journal is to highlight current research trends, any information technology subject is acceptable. We are looking for

- Papers about ongoing research
- Latest technology developments
- Experience reports
- Reviews of literature, websites or conferences

AUTHORS GUIDELINES
------------------------------------------------------------

The purpose of these guidelines is to present a uniform look of the journal articles. The Article name should be in Font Size 14 followed by Author's Name, Organization, Address, and email in Font size 10 in Times New Roman and all centrally aligned. The Abstract should be in Times New Roman 9 pt and using single spacing. Abstract should be indented 1 cm from left and right and paragraph being justified. The special characters available in standard font formats can be used.  The general formatting rules are as follows.

Level -1Heading Times New Roman 12 pt +bold
Level -2Heading Times New Roman 10 pt +bold
Level -3Heading Times New Roman 10pt+Italic
Paragraph Setting Justifies
No of Columns 2
Line Spacing Single
Font Size 10

PAPER SUBMISSION

Submitted papers must be unpublished and written in English.
Authors shall submit their papers before April 15, 2004 either electronically (in MS Word format) to:

IMPORTANT DATES

Notification of Acceptance:  May 30, 2004
Camera-Ready Copy:           June 15, 2004

INVOLVED COST
------------------------------------------------------------

The printing/processing fee for an article is US $60 worldwide whereas for Pakistani nationals it is Rs. 1000. The international authors will be provided 3 copies of the journal whereas local authors will be provided a single copy.

The editorial board will select the three most interesting papers. They will be published free of cost and authors will be provided with a free copy of the journal.
