Hello John,

I'm trying to install the new version of HDBC on my Mac (ghc version is 6.10.1), and get the following error:

I got the same error: Windows XP, GHC 6.10.1.
For some reason imported Control.Exception module appears to be 6.8.* version.

I got that error when using cabal to install. However, when I downloaded the package and installed it with a ./Setup.lhs configure..., it worked. Maybe this is a cabal issue instead.
