No, they are not the same function.

λ> let (*>) = flip const in putStrLn "hi" *> putStrLn "bye"
bye
λ> let (*>) = liftA2 (flip const) in putStrLn "hi" *> putStrLn "bye"
hi
bye

Both are correct.
