Wow, that's what I always wanted! I'm still on version 0.8 so I don't have it.
I downloaded the source for LimitWindows but I'm not sure where to put it so that I can import it from my xmonad.hs. The .xmonad directory doesn't seem to work. Do I put it in /usr/lib/xmonad-contrib-0.8/ghc-6.x.x/XMonad/Layout ? (Is this too off-topic, should I have started a new thread?)

If You found yourself never used tiled mode, maybe You should try manual
tiling window manager, like Stumpwm or Musca or Ion...
But I came to XMonad after years of using manual tiling wm and now i
enjoy the automatic tiling layout. Especially with LimitWindows
modifier...
Sometimes I would like to have a possibility to split a screen manually.
Maybe there is a layout, that i didn't find in the XMonad collection,
with such possibilities? (I tried DragPane, TwoPane, Combo... It's cool,
but not exactly what i mean...)
