I would like you to consider adding http-conduit to the [haskell] repo. I have submitted a pull request which does this at archhaskell/habs on github. I maintain a [haskell-extra] repository that include http-conduit. This repo is builded with cblrepo and depends on [haskell]. You can find more information here:
