Hi Claus, Thanks for the food for thought, Common Lisp is the language I'd spent the most time with before Haskell so meta-programming is where I tend to head when dealing with this kind of abstraction; it's nice to see how else the problem can be tackled. Also apologies that my replies seem to be starting new threads. I hope that's fixed with this message. Cheers, Matt
