[Paolo Martini] patches and questions

Here's paolo's patch to start cleaning up cabal-get. Paolo, yeah, the put program is cabal-server-install. Can we start to use the mailing list more effectively? I really would like to get more people involved, and that can't happen if everything always goes through me :) peace, isaac
