 CPP directives such as:
 {{{
 #if !MIN_VERSION_foo(1,2,3)
 }}}
 don't work, as the expanded version of MIN_VERSION_foo(x,y,z) does not
 include enclosing parenthesis. I can always do:
 {{{
 #if !(MIN_VERSION_foo(1,2,3))
 }}}
 but that's irritating.
