This sounds like it'll make for some very confusing behaviour differences, as people won't realise that they aren't using exactly the same package.
But otherwise we're making things like libHSfoo-1.0-blah.a (and in tarballs and all sorts of places) and I have no confidence it all works out correctly. Duncan
