This matches the recent change to GHCi, fixing the beginner trap Ralf Hinze complained of: Prelude> [] ERROR - Cannot find "show" function for: *** Expression : [] *** Of type : [a] and also (like GHCi) allows [] == [] and [] < [], but only at the prompt.
