Hat: Store output and link each char back to its trace.
  We now create 3 files:
    HatFile (.hat)		The trace archive.
    HatOutput (.hat.output)	A copy of all chars written to output.
    HatBridge (.hat.bridge)	A sequence of traceptrs matching the output.
