With glibc, this appears to be valid as long as (a) you set LANG to something other than "C" or "POSIX", and (b) you call setlocale() first. We now call setlocale() in the RTS startup code. I did try using libunicode, but it appears that libunicode only understands Unicode characters up to 0xffff. That was version 0.4, perhaps more recent versions are better. There's a typo in the !GLASGOW_HASKELL case for peekCWString. Also, you can't use #def in library code (for boring reasons), use a separate C file instead. Cheers, Simon

Urgent business assistance

Ola ABIOLA

Hi, I'm also an internet marketer and I like to help when I can. This internet is such a maze, sometimes a good tip can really help. I remember how it feels to continually pay for advertising my website and to always be in lack of traffic unless I would get more money out of my pocket again and again. I felt like that untill I discovered a good resource. It provides me with a steady stream of fresh, exclusive, pre-qualified leads. Not the regular recycled leads we see everywhere. These are generated in "real time" and are not shared with anyone else. It's made all the difference for my business. Since then, I'm experiencing great results and spending a fraction of what I used to. If you would be interested to know where I get these leads, simply click on the email address below and email me with your name and phone #. I'll be happy to provide you with the link for more info. mailto:leadbiz01@yahoo.com Respectfully Yours, Matthew --------------------------------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- If you don't want any more mailings, simply send a blank email to the email address below: mailto:ldbiz03591@hotmail.com

ANN: H98 FFI Addendum 1.0, Release Candidate 12
by Manuel M T Chakravarty 01 Aug '03

01 Aug '03

Dear Haskell Folks, Release Candidate 12 of the H98 FFI Addendum 1.0 is now available from http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~chak/haskell/ffi/ Since the release of RC 11 (12 June), there was only one small change (which was already under discussion before RC 11 was published). Hence, I consider Version 1.0 of the FFI Addendum to be completed; no changes except linguistic ones and plain error corrections will be accepted anymore for this version. Cheers, Manuel -=- Changes since RC11: * 5.5: Swapped argument order of `newForeignPtr' and `addForeignPtrFinalizer' Note to FFI people, there were at least three votes (Alastair, Sven, and me) for this change and none against.
