Is there a workaround for http://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/8276. I haven't been able to build HEAD for a while due to this issue.
Put the following one line to your mk/build.mk.
HADDOCK_DOCS = NO
The entire contents of my build.mk is:
InstallExtraPackages = YES HADDOCK_DOCS = NO
