Just as a reminder: whenever upstream provides a PR to ghcup-metadata vanilla channel, I consider that an official release announcement for my purposes. On 11/30/24 3:32 AM, Ben Gamari via ghc-releases wrote:

The release is essentially ready. I am happy to hold off announcing until Monday if this helps downstream packagers; just let me know. Otherwise I may announce as early as this evening EST.
