
Hi, I sense a majority for just extending LambdaCase, and I see that that’s simpler and less work and maybe good to avoid setting too high expectations about immutability of extensions, so I’m happy to go with it. Simon, if that is good enough for you as “rough consensus” for you, we merge it (the current proposal texts seems to go along with extending LambdaCase). On the Github thread at https://github.com/ghc-proposals/ghc-proposals/pull/302#issuecomment-8950800... we see that I lean towards (1), but SPJ leands towards (2).
It doesn’t matter that much, but we need to make a decision. Can I please get some opinions from the rest of the committee on this point?
