Stepping down from the committee

Hello, I think it is time for me to step down from the GHC committee---lately I find that I don't have the enthusiasm I used to have for reviewing or discussing proposals, so it makes sense to make space for someone who is passionate about doing this work. Thanks for working with me, and I am looking forward to having a beer with you all at ICFP once the world reopens! -Iavor

Hello Iavor, I’m sad to you see leave, and you will leave an hole in the committee. I have always greatly valued your particular perspective on these matters, and fear that it will be underrepresented in the committee in the future. We’ll need to keep “what would Iavor say to this” in the back of our heads from now on… 50 months is an impressive time to spend on a project like this, and if interests shift and it becomes less rewarding than it used to be, then stepping down is the right step to do. Should you ever change your mind, I’ll be happy to see your name on the ballot! Cheers, and looking forward to see you at a conference at some point, Joachim Am Dienstag, den 18.05.2021, 11:52 -0700 schrieb Iavor Diatchki:

I wholeheartedly agree with Joachim here. I was sad to see Iavor's note and contemplating writing a plea to stay on -- but then wanted to respect your decision. Despite the fact, Iavor, that you and I often have been on opposing sides of a debate, it's a pleasure to work with you, and I will miss your voice in this committee. Thanks for all your contributions! Richard
