Basically you load a module that calls the Cabal configure function, and we try to call a function and get the result. This works fine if the executable is compiled with -dynamic, but segfaults (on Ubuntu at least) if the executable is static. In this case the failure is due to ‘WrappedSchoenfinkel cat b c’ not being nominally equal to ‘cat b c’, in the type ‘(WrappedSchoenfinkel cat b c, b)’, which is required to be nominally equal to ‘(cat b c, b)’ because it's used as a parameter to the variable ‘cat’. 'test2' demonstrates an inconsistency between type checking with GHC and the type checking that occurs when the same expression is entered in GHCi. I do not know if this is a related problem.
