#7258: Compiling DynFlags is jolly slow -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Reporter: simonpj | Owner: simonpj Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Compiler | Version: 7.6.1 Resolution: | Keywords: deriving-perf Operating System: Unknown/Multiple | Architecture: Type of failure: Compile-time | Unknown/Multiple performance bug | Test Case: Blocked By: | Blocking: Related Tickets: | Differential Rev(s): Wiki Page: | -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Comment (by bgamari): During the call Simon hypothesized that we should keep the free variables lists in mind when comparing STG. I stated that I didn't think that we currently had a way to print closures' free variable lists. I've checked and this isn't quite true: the pretty-printer will print free variable lists when `-dppr-debug` is passed. I've broken this out into its own flag in Phab:D4140. -- Ticket URL: http://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/7258#comment:75 GHC http://www.haskell.org/ghc/ The Glasgow Haskell Compiler
