#13967: Simplifier ticks exhausted (when trying UnfoldingDone) from using lots of ByteString Builder literals -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Reporter: sergv | Owner: (none) Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Compiler | Version: 8.0.2 Resolution: | Keywords: Operating System: Linux | Architecture: x86_64 Type of failure: Compile-time | (amd64) crash or panic | Test Case: Blocked By: | Blocking: Related Tickets: | Differential Rev(s): Wiki Page: | -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Comment (by bgamari): This sounds eerily similar to #13960 which I diagnosed today. It looks like `bytestring`'s treatment of literals is quite silly, resulting in a great deal of inlining (and perhaps poor code). I have a patch in the works to fix this. -- Ticket URL: http://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/13967#comment:2 GHC http://www.haskell.org/ghc/ The Glasgow Haskell Compiler
