I can't find other tickets about it, which is puzzling, but see [wiki:ExplicitCallStack] for lots of material. I thought that Lennart was muttering about this too, but I can't find the trail. It's possible I may get some time/effort to work in it this summer, but it'd be great to evolve a clear design first.
