#13165: Speed up the RTS hash table -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Reporter: dobenour | Owner: (none) Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Runtime System | Version: 8.1 Resolution: | Keywords: newcomer Operating System: Unknown/Multiple | Architecture: | Unknown/Multiple Type of failure: None/Unknown | Test Case: Blocked By: | Blocking: Related Tickets: | Differential Rev(s): Wiki Page: | -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Comment (by Crazycolorz5): I'd be interested in helping in resolving this ticket. I'm just a bit unclear as to what needs to be altered / what it's used for. I see the previous changes improve string hashing, but word hashing seems fairly swift (no library calls, just bit-level manipulations) as-is? Are there specific examples that may illustrate the suboptimal performance? -- Ticket URL: http://ghc.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/13165#comment:10 GHC http://www.haskell.org/ghc/ The Glasgow Haskell Compiler
