I thought it was the compiler that was crashing, not the compiled executable. Since it is not the compiler and it *is* the executable, I am 100% certain that the version of the llvm tools you have contains a bug (discussed in ticket #9920). The fix for that LLVM bug is to install llvm-3.5.2 from debian testing.
