Re: [GHC] #6135: Unboxed Booleans

#6135: Unboxed Booleans ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Reporter: benl | Owner: jstolarek Type: feature request | Status: patch Priority: normal | Milestone: 7.8.1 Component: Compiler | Version: 7.4.1 Keywords: | Os: Unknown/Multiple Architecture: Unknown/Multiple | Failure: None/Unknown Difficulty: Unknown | Testcase: Blockedby: | Blocking: Related: #605 | ---------------------------------+------------------------------------------ Comment(by simonpj): If we are going to change primpops, perhaps we should change `dataToTag#` and `tagToEnum#` to take/return `Word#` instead of `Int#`? Wouldn't that be more consistent? It's a breaking change (for primop users), but changing the type of the comparision primops is a much more substantial breakage. Please can we ensure that the wiki page is up to date, explaining the actual proposed story and why it's better. Maybe it is already.
