#8026: DatatypeContexts should be fixed, not deprecated -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Reporter: gidyn | Owner: Type: feature | Status: new request | Milestone: Priority: normal | Version: 7.6.3 Component: Compiler | Keywords: Resolution: | Architecture: Unknown/Multiple Operating System: | Difficulty: Unknown Unknown/Multiple | Blocked By: Type of failure: | Related Tickets: None/Unknown | Test Case: | Blocking: | Differential Revisions: | -------------------------------------+------------------------------------- Comment (by goldfire): It seems that those of us who have hacked on GHC in the past have a hard time understanding this proposal -- which, to me, looks either unsound (if implemented simply) or very complicated (adding the ability to ''return'' a constraint). If you want this to be considered, please write up a wiki page with detailed examples and types. Also, suggest how this feature should be implemented, in terms of a translation to GHC's core language. It currently all seems a little magical.
