Profiling makes FFI Marshalling of Doubles and Int64s fail

(using GHC 6.2.1 under Windows XP) I'm trying to use the Sqlite (version 3) dll - see http://www.sqlite.org/ . Marshalling of 32-bit ints and Strings works well, but 64-bit Ints and Doubles fail (I get garbage back from the FF calls) when I compile with "-prof -auto-all". If I compile without profiling, everything works as I expect. When I try to load the compiled (with -prof) object files in GHCi, it fails with this error message: ------------------------ Compiling TestCase ( TestCase.lhs, interpreted ) ghc.exe: panic! However, I would recommend a pre-compiled windows binary distributions as compiling everything requires good knowledge of all the build tools. I hope this helps, -- Daan.

Hi: I´m trying to make an application in Haskell. As I need to implement a graphical interface, I was thinking of using wxHaskell. Is that a good option? How can I use the wxHaskell libraries with GHC? I´m working under Windows XP. Thanks!! Miren mirencob(a)terra.es

Dear GHC developers, The library functions like minimum, maximum, should perform in a constant space: probably, it is easy to write them his way. And ghc-6.2.2-pre shows Prelude> minimum [1 .. rewrite rule pragma syntax

I encountered the same problem as this guy: http://www.haskell.org/pipermail/glasgow-haskell-users/2002-May/003407.html It is still present in GHC-6.2.1. Only if you turn on -fglasgow-exts the RULES pragma is parsed correctly. I think GHC should give a warning like "turn -fglasgow-exts on for RULES pragma" instead of: Media.hs:23: Variable not in scope: `forall' Media.hs:23: Variable not in scope: `f' Media.hs:23: Variable not in scope: `f' Media.hs:23: Variable not in scope: `f'

You can't, I'm afraid: http://www.haskell.org/ghc/docs/latest/html/users_guide/separate-compila tion.html#MUTUAL-RECURSION To get the instances in the right place, why not just add 'instance Show T' everywhere you find 'instance Putputable T'? I'm not keen on adding Show instances to the main source tree; can you not elaborate the ppr instances instead?
