to help from people here, I have built a working GHC 6.2.1 for AIX5.1L. (The last GHC I could find for AIX was GHC 2.09!)
As a follow-up question: what does it take to get this listed at http://www.haskell.org/ghc/download_ghc_621.html? I bet there is someone else out there that would find it useful. It's unregisterized, but aside from that, the only known bug is that some of the timezone calculations may be off (and I've already submitted that at sf.net) -- John
