Hello, what are the plans for implicit parameters? Will GHC continue to support them or could it be that they will be removed at some time? I think that implicit parameters can be very useful for implementing global variables as described in http://www.cs.chalmers.se/~rjmh/Globals.ps. Surprisingly, the interest in implicit parameters seems to be rather low as the GHC survey from 2005 suggests. Despite this, I’d propose that support for implicit parameters continues.
