and looped at this point during about 50 minutes, without any report.
50 minutes does seem like a rather long time... I've never seen this here. You might try adding +RTS -A16m -RTS to GhcStage1HcOpts in mk/build.mk, that should help speed up the build a bit (if you have enough memory). Cheers, Simon
