It would be very helpful to know if this solves the problem for you. I've had reports of similar failures on 10.4, but have not been able to reproduce them on a ppc/10.4 machine or a ppc/10.5 machine.
Even with Xcode 3.0, it seems as if not everyone gets tagged by the error.
