
I have it working on Solaris 2.8, bootstrapped from 4.08 as Simon describes. The same procedure should work on 2.6. If you have problems I can send you the contents of the directory after compilation. I think the compiled directory from 2.8 would run on 2.6, as long as 64 bit mode isn't used. You might find that the 2.7 binaries work on your system. Failing that, you'll need to bootstrap GHC from .hc files, starting from version 4.08.2. Instructions are here:
