Note about []: Don't even mention foldl. The folding combinator for lists is foldr, period.
Amen. I ignore foldl in teaching but it will appear under the name of IEnumerable<T>.Aggregate(z, f) (from Linq). Note, the Linq designers got the argument order right (put the Nil case first, and the Cons case later). J.W.
