If Wolfram want to claim that Mathematica has "redefined the face of computer science"... well I don't believe that for one second. If they want to claim it's a product that can do some amazing stuff... well I don't see much evidence to the contrary.
You got suckered by their marketing. Get your head out of the sand, and take a good look around what is available.
