There are serious reasons not to, see http://www.unicom.com/pw/reply-to-harmful.html My personal suggestion is to try news.gmane.org (group: gmane.comp.lang.haskell.cafe) and a news client. Makes life *so* much easier, especially for high-volume lists like haskell-cafe. I switched a few years ago and never wanted to go back. Another trick: in kmail (which I see you are using) if you filter your haskell-cafe traffic into a separate mail folder, you can configure this folder to answer to the list per default, instead of the sender.
