[Haskell-cafe] What's the status of regular patterns?

The package description of haskell-src-exts says "Apart from these standard extensions, it also handles regular patterns as per the HaRP extension as well as HSX-style embedded XML syntax." So is this HaRP extension still alive in any way? The harp package seems to have nothing to do with syntax and long-abandoned.
