I talked with Erik the admin@hackage about taking over hdevtools and he suggested waiting another week before invading. In the meantime he suggested asking a hackage trustee to please upload this git branch to hackage (https://github.com/schell/hdevtools/tree/cabal-support-ghc7.8).
