My access the world outside the office's LAN is limited to ports 80 and 443. And chat.freenode.net lives on 6667.

Once upon a time I could access #haskell via IRC gateway @ irc.e.jabber.ru, but not know, for the reasons unknown.

Do you know of any 443:server, forwarding connections to chat.freenode.net:6667?

If you have a web server somewhere you can use CGIIRC. That's what I did in a similar situation. http://cgiirc.org/ -- Johan
