I had to use type synonymes sometimes to avoid mutually recursive modules. It has the disadvantage that a type synonyme can't be made an instance of a type class. I also like to use names like TypeClass.C for type classes where it is even more difficult because there are no type class synonymes. (Only class A a => B a )
