You only need to _release_ your package on Hackage, it is not required that the Hackage server can build it. Stackage builds packages on its own. If Hackage fails to build your documentation, you can create it yourself and upload it manually: $ cabal haddock --for-hackage --hyperlink-source $ cabal upload --documentation --publish dist/pkg-0.1-docs.tar.gz
