Actually logging all those discussions is a good idea: I will make a wiki page containing all the discussions I have with my wife, and then - at the start of a new discussion - I can redirect her to the wiki page. Problem solved, no energy wasted ;-)
Clever idea! If a discussion repeats, some people react hysterically, others react historically.
