Some of this information is very out of place on hackage, some of it is duplication of the standard fields in the cabal file, and some of it is just not things that a new user needs to see on their first visit to the package documentation.
I question that; a README is pretty much the first thing I end up digging for when looking at something on Hackage. (I really like how github formats the README for a repo automatically.
