What should I do differently?
The problem must be

, I solved the loop by defining
id = arr Prelude.id
instead of:
id = arr id

Or (less likely) http://hackage.haskell.org/trac/ghc/ticket/2722
Can you try with the HEAD? Or the 6.10 branch (which includes the fix for #2985)?
