Thanks for the many, varied responses to my query. I've learned more about all these tools! Just to close the loop, though: I've decided not to go with any of these tools because of lack of REPL support. My approach to Haskell will not start with `main`, and I want students to get used to just writing functions first, before writing programs. http://ideone.com (ghc 7.6.3) fpcomplete.com's online IDE has a free/community tier, although for this I suspect you can't meet the ToS

Just to follow up publicly: the FP Complete terms of service should *not* prevent any kind of usage in this case. We're in the process of revising our ToS to make it clearer with the upcoming open publish model, but the simple explanation of that model is: you can do whatever you want in the IDE, but- like Github- all commits will be publicly viewable.
