my guess is that this is no longer accurate documentation (?)

anything that could be provided in the way of examples would be nice, i have placed a stub here:

it would be nice of people inlined small examples directly into the haddock docs for libraries. putting a minimal "hello world" example illustrating the basics of a library would preclude 90% of the followup questions on lists and irc.

Thanks for doing this, I'll see what I can dig up.
