
I won't deny that Haskell has a large number of unfamiliar term if
you've only seen Java before.
But I don't think that giving them all happy fuzzy names will help
people in the long run.

I think the problem is that all these pieces of "little effort" soon mount up. It's not just the cost of looking it up, but also of remembering it the next time and so on. It's fine when you only encounter the occasional unfamiliar term, but a barrage of them all at once can be quite disorienting.
