If that's going to happen, then ideally we would have a way to run tests as part of the hackage acceptance process. For instance, the change to a time format string wouldn't break anything at compile time, but my HDBC test suite sure caught it. I can see difficulty with this, though, particularly with packages that are bindings to C libraries. -- John
