Unqualified type variables are of course implicitly qualified "forall". In an ideal world, where compatibility with 98 were not an issue, they would be "unknown" and we wouldn't need an "unknown" keyword. But it's not, and it is, and they aren't, so perhaps we do... -- Ashley Yakeley Seattle WA
