Hi! I've set up my Haskell environment with GHCup and Cabal and compiled a program of mine. It has worked really really well. The developers have my thanks and appreciation. Cheers, Volker
Thanks, how did you find the documentation? Were you able to get an overview of "where to go" after the installation of tools? If you want to support the wider Haskell ecosystem, you can also consider donating to the Haskell Foundation: https://haskell.foundation/ Cheers, Julian On 2/28/26 5:46 PM, Volker Wysk wrote:

Actually, it wasn't the first time I used GHC up. I had my notes. I installed from scratch, because I've switched from Ubuntu to OpenSUSE and back to Ubuntu. But it was super easy with GHC up. I'm also a long time Haskell programmer. I'm (somewhat) familiar with Cabal. It's just that I haven't had much exercise, because I've been programming mostly with Mercury. Volker

This prompts me to thank everyone who has worked on GHC for the last 30-some years. It was clearly a lot of work. But it allows the rest of us to produce fast code from an intensely interesting language full of intellectual challenges.
